Under 2’s - Our under 2’s unit consists of 2 large separate playrooms, the Baby Room caring for 0-12 months and the Tweenie Room 12-24 months.
At this very early stage, the emphasis is on providing an environment where babies can feel totally secure. Here they are able to explore using their senses and begin to interact with other adults and children. The Baby Room team focuses on tactile activities that stimulate and encourage development.
Your Baby will be cared for by our qualified and experienced team, who strive to give you’re little one the love and attention they need, which is essential for the smooth transition from home to nursery. Your baby will start their nursery life with as many free settling in visits as needed, during which time you can discuss your child’s routine and individual needs with their key worker.
As your child increases in confidence and mobility they will move through to the Tweenie Room, where these skills can flourish further. A range of equipment and resources are made available that encourage your child to explore the environment around them. Seeking out new and exciting challenges will stimulate your child’s continuing development, with a particular emphasis on their social and emotional well being.
In this stimulating environment a wide variety of experiences are available, many of which are freely accessible to the children encouraging their independence and decision making skills. At this age the children are gently encouraged to develop their social and self help skills with activities such as, role play, group circle times, sitting together at meal times and starting the toilet training process.
A qualified teacher leads the team in our exciting Pre-school Room. The children have access to a variety of resources and activities, which supports the children’s learning. These are carefully planned around the children’s interests and individual needs. They are aimed at providing learning opportunities that will encourage the children to progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage in preparation for their journey to “big school”.
